Dawn D. Bennett-Alexander, J.D. is internationally recognized as a pioneering architect and subject matter expert in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). With a career spanning four decades, Dawn has earned over 60 awards as a law professor in colleges of business, practicing attorney, prolific author, and passionate quilter. She is the proud mother of three daughters and grandmother to two, and her life’s work is grounded in her personal motto: “It’s ALL about LOVE…”
Dawn’s influence extends far beyond the classroom. She has engaged in transformative conversations, writing, presenting, training, and advocating to/for thousands of students, professionals, and community members, tackling the complexities of diversity and inclusion as they manifest in everyday life. Her expertise and warmth have made her a sought-after speaker, educator, and consultant on DEIB topics worldwide.
Recently, Dawn has channeled her formidable skills and insights into the world of literature, authoring a series of cozy mysteries with a twist—stories that both entertain and impart lasting, impactful lessons about humanity, justice, and belonging. Renée is a dynamic leader and lifelong learner whose journey spans continents, careers, and causes. A graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a degree in Political Science, Renée was raised internationally thanks to her father’s distinguished Naval service—an upbringing that instilled in her a global perspective and deep appreciation for diversity.
Renée’s professional path is as varied as it is impressive. She has been a dedicated dancer, served honorably in the U.S. Army, Army Reserves, and Army National Guard, and volunteered as a rape crisis counselor. Her leadership skills have shone through in management roles across the restaurant and call center industries, as well as in public policy research at the federal, state, and local levels, and within consumer entertainment.
Renée’s expertise in operational excellence is evidenced by her work creating policies and procedures for major publicly traded companies, where she deployed Lean Six Sigma Methodology to drive meaningful change. Among her many roles, she considers her time at Apple Inc. the most enjoyable—a testament to her passion for innovation and collaboration.
While Renée’s career is remarkable, she considers her greatest achievement to be her family. Through love, marriage, and partnership, she has proudly raised six children, blending families and nurturing each child with care and devotion. Now, as “Glam Ma Ma” to three cherished grandchildren, Renée embraces her newest and most joyful chapter yet.
